Ontario’s Learn to Fish program is a free undertaking that teaches new anglers how to fish in Ontario.
This fun and informative two–hour program combines a an hour of practical teaching with one hour of supervised hands-on fishing.
The program will teach you how to rig, bait and cast a fishing line, identify and catch local fish species as well as how to obtain a fishing licence and follow fishing regulations
If you want to get involved- the mobile unit will be at Lake Whitaker Conservation Area July 13 and at Dalewood Conservation area on July 14.
They provide everything you need, including:
- experienced instructors focused on fish, fun and safety
- fishing rod, reel and bait
- a fishing licence to take part in the Learn to Fish program
- lifejacket and sunglasses
The program features two sessions per day: from 10 a.m. until noon and 1 until 3 p.m.
