From courtroom cases to crafting ceramics, it has been a leap of faith for St. Thomas native Raegan Little.
Her eye-appealing and humorous exhibition, Made in Canada, showcases her ceramic celebration of whimsically Canadian objects.
From Timbits to tomato ketchup, and it all began with a peanut butter jar in her kitchen, explains Little.
After years of practicing law and raising kids, Little loves the days now where she is covered in clay.
She experiments in a variety of mediums but her Made in Canada ceramic exhibition spotlights Canadian favourites found in every household.
Most of them began life in her kitchen.
It’s billed as a cheeky nod to Canadiana captured in ceramics.
From Nanaimo bars to poutine and a puck, Little’s Made in Canada exhibition reminds us of our youth and collective Canadian sweet tooth.
The items had been housed in her dining room and then the call came from Laura Woermke at the St. Thomas Elgin Public Art Centre.
Made in Canada, a collection of 30 colourful and uniquely Canadian pieces including, of course, a ceramic toque, runs through Aug. 10 at the St. Thomas Elgin Public Art Centre.
