The Small Business Enterprise Centre will once again be hosting its Bridges to Better Business event on September 26th- returning to the historic Elgin County Railway Museum.
This annual event celebrates small business accomplishments across Elgin County and St. Thomas and will feature the return of the Food Showcase, highlighting local culinary talents.
Over a dozen small businesses will be recognized during the awards portions of the evening and more than 20 food-based businesses will be on-hand to offer samples.
A cash bar with local beverages will also be available.
Special guest Steven Page, co-founder and vocalist of Barenaked Ladies, will then close out the event with a live performance.
For those unfamiliar with the name, you may recognize some of their classics like “Brian Wilson,” “If I Had A Million Dollars,” “What A Good Boy,” “It’s All Been Done,” and many more. They sold over 15 Million albums and scored multiple Junos, Billboard Music Awards, SOCAN awards, Gemini Awards and two Grammy nominations.
After leaving the band in 2009, Page embarked on a solo career that has produced five solo albums, including 2022’s Excelsior and has seen him tour worldwide, from folk festivals to cabarets and theatres, all the way to packed arenas on his recent string of dates opening for rock legends The Who.
Tickets to Bridges to Better Business, presented by Libro Credit Union are available now.
