A 28-year-old Southwold resident was arrested in St. Thomas Tuesday afternoon following a disturbance on Myrtle Street.
Police responded to reports of an individual destroying property in the area, with significant damage sustained to a vehicle.
Upon arrival, police located the suspect, who became combative and spat on an officer during the arrest.
The individual was charged with Assaulting a Peace Officer, Mischief, Failure to Comply with a Probation Order, and Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance.
They were transported to police headquarters and held for a morning court appearance.
