It was another amazing day spent out in our community on Thursday as we came together to host the 6th annual myFM and Elgin Roofing All Hands on Deck Food Drive.
The myFM team and our amazing group of sponsors spent the entire day Thursday spread out at the Real Canadian Superstore in St. Thomas and Miller’s Your Independent Grocer in Aylmer, collecting donations in support of our local food banks.
In St. Thomas, three truck loads full of food donations were delivered to the St. Thomas Elgin Food Bank, with over $2,120 in monetary donations collected by our wonderful volunteers- Quinn and Georgia!
And it was timely as the amount of clients they serve has reached an all time high notes Karen McDade, Manager of Public Relations and Administration.
With the school year just around the corner, we asked the community to think of the students yesterday and they did not disappoint.
McDade says these products will go to use right away as just because school’s not in session, doesn’t mean our kids should go without.
McDade sends a special shout out to all our sponsors and volunteers who helped make the day so successful, but most importantly thanks the community.
At Miller’s Your Independent Grocer, they sent two truck loads of food (roughly 750 pounds) and more than $315 in cash and gift cards to the Corner Cupboard in Aylmer.
