In beach water testing undertaken this week, Southwestern Public Health is advising that all beaches across Elgin County are safe for swimming at this time.
This is the first time this summer that a beach hasn’t been flagged for high bacteria levels following testing.
However, water quality is heavily impacted by environmental conditions and bacteria levels in beach water are often much higher following a heavy rainfall or high winds.
Remember, weekly beach water quality updates are available on the health unit’s website and also 24/7 by dialing 211, Ontario’s free information and referral service.
