Investigation continues in the Town of Aylmer after an individual failed to stop for police early Sunday morning.
Around 1:20 a.m., an Aylmer officer observed a silver Honda Civic running a stop sign at Sydenham Street West and John Street South. The vehicle swerved into the oncoming lane, prompting the officer to follow.
The driver then pulled into a private driveway on Talbot Line but accelerated through a field when the officer activated their emergency lights.
The car got stuck, and the driver fled on foot. Despite efforts by the OPP K9 unit, the suspect remains at large.
It was also later determined that the vehicle in this incident had been reported as stolen.
The investigation is ongoing and the public is encouraged to provide any information to Aylmer Police or Crimestoppers.
