Founded in 2006, Custom Quality Manufacturing or CQM specializes in metal fabrication and manufacturing processes like laser cutting, welding and bending along with sandblasting and painting. Their operation is housed in a 60,000 square foot facility located on John Street in Aylmer.
Founder Jake Wieler notes with CQM’s state-of-the-art equipment and highly skilled team, they are able to deliver high-quality metal parts and products to meet your exacting specifications.
He explains, “We are a custom job shop, so we get into a variety of different areas. We do a lot of agricultural work, we do a lot in construction like concrete mixers and we have our own line of snow plows.”
CQM does a considerable amout of work with Salford Group, located in Salford, south of Ingersoll. They specialize in tillage and application equipment.
CQM is known for their line of all-purpose box blades, used in agricultural, for maintaining parking areas and yards and for snow removal.
They are designed to fit skid steer loaders, wheel loaders and tractors.
Robotic welding is a specialized service offered by CQM. In this process, welding is performed by automated machines or robots. These robots are programmed to accurately and efficiently weld various components together.
Specialized equipment includes a tube laser, three modern laser tables, three modern press brakes, the ability to produce custom steel framework and provide shop and digitial drawings using software such as AutoCAD and Solid Works.
Wieler admits it is somewhat difficult to predict where CQM might be five or 10 years down the road.
“Most of the work we do here, we have work for generally for no more than three months out. But it just keeps revolving.
“But over the past five years, we have more than doubled on our revenue. So, I am happy with the results.”
