A free cancer screening pop-up clinic will again be offered in St. Thomas on Friday. They’re hosted by the Thames Valley Family Health Team to address the needs of those without a family physician or nurse practitioner.
There are approximately 7,000 individuals in St. Thomas Elgin who fall into this category and nurse practitioner Andrea Hunt – at left in photo – talks about the value of the new clinics and the services offered.
These clinics are geared to specific target groups, and Hunt explains the role and value of nurse practitioners at the clinics.
The clinics are specifically designed to provide vital cancer screening services to women, men over the age of 50, trans masculine individuals and non-binary people.
Services include Cervical Cancer Screening, Colorectal Cancer Screening and Breast Cancer Screening.
An additional clinic will be held Sept. 6.
The clinics are hosted at 230 First Ave., suite 109. To book an appointment, call 226-726-8440 and press ‘4’ to speak to an administrative assistant.
