The St. Thomas Stars have appointed Doug Gardner as their new assistant coach for the upcoming season.
Gardner, an alumnus who played six seasons in Junior hockey, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the team, having served as Captain for much of his career.
He’s known for his player-centric approach and previously served as an assistant coach with the Komoka Kings in the GOJHL.
Gardner expressed his excitement about joining the coaching staff and contributing to the team’s legacy saying “I firmly believe in the hockey adage that hard work surpasses talent when talent doesn’t work hard, and that principle will resonate in my message to the players this season.”
