The Aylmer Police have announced a partnership with CAMSafe, a program designed to take advantage of commercial and residential security cameras.
CAMSafe allows police to compile a database of cameras in the community that can then be used as a resource when investigating offences or reports of a crime.
Should police wish to view camera footage, they can make a request to the property owner.
Interested community members are only required to provide basic contact info and camera location. However, you can include additional details such as the direction the camera faces and screenshots of the camera view.
Registrants can only view their own information and you can delete your account or change information at any time.
CAMSafe is already being utilized by Elgin OPP and the St. Thomas Police Service.
