The World Premiere of Bigfoot! by Ephraim Ellis is on stage at Port Stanley Festival Theatre through August 24th. Three intrepid explorers; Abby, Jake, and Leaf scour the interior rainforests of British Columbia searching for signs, for redemption and for proof. Bigfoot! Truth or legend? Acoustic Vibes is taking place at the St. Thomas Public Library from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Grab your instruments and join the laid-back jam session! All skill levels are welcome and encouraged. Just a heads up – this isn’t a music lesson, it’s a chance to play and enjoy an evening of musical fun and good vibes.
The library will be hosting a Puzzle Exchange from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday. More puzzles than storage space? Bring in your puzzles and find some new (to you) ones to work on! If you don’t have a puzzle to bring, come anyway. You might just be in luck if they have extras!

A free cancer screening pop-up clinic will once again be offered in St. Thomas on Friday. The clinics are hosted by the Thames Valley Family Health Team to address the needs of those without a family physician or nurse practitioner. More details can be found here.

Railway City Brewing Co. will once again have live music this weekend! The fun kicks off Friday with Nick Ewanick from 5 to 8 p.m. Christopher Miller will then perform on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
You can also take in Brews & Boots: Country Night from 5 to 10 p.m. on Saturday!

Movies in the Park have returned! The Ice Box will be showing “Clifford The Big Red Dog” Friday at the Pinafore Park Dance Pavilion beginning at sunset.

The Horton Farmers’ Market is open Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon and it’s “Yappy Hour” this week! You can stop by every Saturday through November 2nd to shop the fresh and local foods as well as endless creations from the talented artisans.

The Bo Horvat Community Centre Renaming Ceremony and Celebration in West Lorne will be taking place Saturday, August 24th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will feature interactive displays, inflatables, entertainment, food vendors and of course the official renaming ceremony. A Book Signing with Author Alex Wilson is taking place at Lockwood Books on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. Her debut children’s book, “Welcome Back to St. Thomas” is dedicated to her son to show him all her favourite memories of our wonderful city. More details here.

The Hydrant & Harbour Cheesecake will be hosting a two day event at the Port Stanley Fire Hall Market on Saturday and Sunday! These two days will be filled with Entertainment, live music, raffles, prizes, vendors and great food and drinks. LOCAL SPORTS:
The St. Thomas Stars kick off preseason action Friday at the Joe Thornton Community Centre when they take on the Komoka Kings at 7:30 p.m. The Stars will then travel to Komoka on Saturday for another matchup with the Kings. Full details can be found here!
