In case you missed the big event over the weekend, the West Lorne Arena now has a new name.
With family, fans and old friends by his side, NHL star and Rodney native Bo Horvat officially unveiled the new moniker of the local rink on Saturday- ‘The Bo Horvat Community Centre.’
We also had the chance to catch up with Bo’s father, Tim Horvat, who shared what it meant to the family.
With many hours spent at the local rink and countless others while Bo was developing, Tim shared some advice for the hockey parents out there.
As far as how the event went? Hundreds of people showed up to take in the day and get a little face time with Bo himself.
Jennifer Vanesse, Administrative Assistant of Operations and Community Services in West Elgin couldn’t have been happier with the turn out!
While the current New York Islander is now headed off to training camp as he gets set for his 11th season in the NHL, Bo Horvat’s legacy will continue to inspire all those who walk through the door of the Community Centre.
