A 33-year-old Aylmer woman has been charged under the Provincial Animal Welfare Services Act after police responded to a call about a dog left in a hot vehicle last Wednesday.
Concerned by the extreme heat and closed windows, a passerby alerted authorities, who quickly arrived at the scene.
The woman now faces charges for exposing the animal to undue risk and distress.
She is scheduled to appear in St. Thomas court next month to address the charges.
