St. Thomas continues to be blessed with new pockets of beauty throughout the city as another new mural has been completed.
The piece titled ‘Home’ can be found on the back wall of 432 Talbot Street, which is located in the parking lot behind Shoppers Drug Mart.
It was created by mural artist Megan Oldhues, who looked to show that home is more than a space and is often a feeling encompassing a curated sense of security and belonging.
Inspired by the visual nature of comfort, the mural depicts a young woman dozing off while in the gentle presence of her cat and points to the idea that home, at its core, becomes a timeless personal quest reflective of human nature.
Oldhues is a Toronto based LGBTQ+ emerging artist who developed her craft from the roots of the underground graffiti and street art scenes. Her work is best described as traditional realism inspired by the beauty of everyday life.
