On May 27th of this year, a 48-year-old man lost control of his vehicle and was seriously injured when he veered into a farmer’s field.
As he was being pursued by an Aylmer Police Service cruiser at the time, the SIU was notified of the incident and initiated an investigation.
On his assessment of the evidence, SIU Director Joseph Martino determined there were no reasonable grounds to believe an officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the man’s injury.
