As we look back on the week that was, here were our top five most read stories from September 28th to October 4th:
1. St. Thomas firefighters responded to multiple 911 calls just after 7 p.m. Sunday (Sept 29) night for a house fire on Penhale Ave.
All off-duty firefighters were called in to help battle the blaze as St. Thomas Police assisted with traffic control.
2. Last Thursday, the Small Business Enterprise Centre spent the evening recognizing local businesses with the Elgin & St. Thomas Small Business Awards.
3. A 15-year-old St. Thomas youth has been charged with assault after a violent altercation at a city high school.
4. It’s double trouble for the criminal element in St. Thomas. The city now has a second K9 unit with the new team of Const. Kyle Beech and PSD Rocky, who were honoured at a St. Thomas Police Service graduation ceremony on Friday.
5. After receiving thousands of nominations for our 2024 myFM Spirit Awards, the time has finally come to reveal our Top 3 in each category.
