A 40-year-old St. Thomas man has been arrested following a disturbance at a Talbot Street restaurant Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called to the scene around 3:00 p.m. after receiving reports of an unruly customer who had assaulted and threatened staff. By the time police arrived, the suspect had left the restaurant on foot.
Officers quickly located the individual, but he refused to stop. Police Service Dog Rocky was deployed, enabling officers to take the man into custody.
The suspect has been charged with assault, uttering threats, and resisting a peace officer.
While in custody, the man became increasingly aggressive and threatened the officers, resulting in an additional charge of assaulting a peace officer.
