Southwestern Public Health is seeking the public’s help in identifying a dog involved in a bite incident Sunday in St. Thomas.
The incident occurred just after noon at Fore Golfers Only on Talbot Line.
Two men were at the golf range with two dogs, a Labrador, and a pitbull, both tied to a bench. Another individual approached the bench and the pitbull bit him.
The owner of the pitbull is described as a male, approximately 50-60 years old.
Public Health wants to confirm the vaccination status of the dog to allow the victim and their health care provider to determine next steps related to rabies post-exposure prophylaxis.
If you are the owner of the dog or have information about the incident, please contact Southwestern Public Health at 1-800-922-0096 and ask to speak with a Public Health Inspector.
