But no decision on whether the province would scrap daylight time or make it permanent. It creates an interesting scenario in this province.
In 2020 Ontario passed legislation to permanently remain on daylight time, but only if Quebec and New York state also made the move.
A Montreal clinical psychologist is among the experts urging Quebec to scrap its twice-yearly time change. Universite de Montreal professor Roger Godbout calls them a nuisance and blames the time changes for negative effects on people’s mental and physical health.
