In celebration of Small Business Week, the Elgin St. Thomas Small Business Enterprise Centre has teamed up with myFM to highlight local entrepreneurs who are making waves in the community.
Bass Notez Cocktail Lounge is the brainchild of Stephanie Klassen, who was looking for a way to bring her creative ideas to life. The elegant cocktail lounge features unique drinks, live jazz and lounge music, as well as shareable hors d’oeuvre.
They’ve been open for just over 3 months now at 703 Talbot Street in St. Thomas in the old Midtown building. Klassen and her team spent a number of months renovating the space before opening, turning it into exactly what she had pictured. She explains how the idea for this new local spot came to be.
Adding that it was time St. Thomas offered something different.
Bass Notez Cocktail Lounge welcomes its customers on Wednesday & Thursday from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Friday & Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Klassen notes that live music goes Thursday through Saturday, kicking off at 8:30 Thursday and around 9 on both Friday and Saturday.
And while their specialty is cocktails, what goes better with a drink than some delicious food?
As far as what has been her favourite part of the business journey so far, Klassen says it’s the reaction to all the hard work.
