Southwestern Public Health is seeking the public’s help in identifying a dog involved in a bite incident Tuesday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m., the victim was walking eastbound on Erie Street at Fifth Avenue and was bitten by a dog when its owner passed by.
The dog is described as medium-sized, black and white in color. The owner is described as a female, aged 50-60, wearing a hat and brown winter coat.
Public Health wants to confirm the vaccination status of the dog to allow the victim and their health care provider to determine next steps related to rabies post-exposure prophylaxis.
If you are the owner of the dog or have information about the incident, please contact Southwestern Public Health at 1-800-922-0096 and ask to speak with a Public Health Inspector.
