St. Thomas Police are investigating an alleged case of assault against an 11-year-old child.
Friday morning, the youngster reported to their school they had been assaulted the previous night by their father.
The victim sustained minor injuries and city police were contacted by Family and Children’s Services.
The Criminal Investigations Branch of the St. Thomas Police service is now investigating.
The child’s father was arrested and charged with assault and released on an undertaking with conditions to protect the child.
