The province announced Wednesday afternoon it will match the Federal government’s two-month sales tax holiday.
A statement from Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy indicated the Doug Ford government will remove the PST from items not currently covered by existing provincial rebates.
The province advises the tax break is expected to provide close to $1 billion in additional relief for Ontario families.
The tax holiday will run from Dec. 14 to Feb. 15 of next year.
