With a gale warning issued by Environment Canada for the Lake Erie shoreline, the Catfish Creek Conservation Authority has issued a watershed condition statement.
High winds and wave action could lead to flooding and shoreline erosion in the Port Bruce area.
Power outages are possible. Damage to buildings, such as roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. There is a possibility of a wave uprush along the Lake Erie water frontage from Waneeta Beach, to the harbour area and has the potential to cause shoreline erosion.
Residents are asked to monitor conditions and avoid shoreline areas experiencing strong wave action.
The statement is in effect until Friday morning.
