Don’t let the spring-like temperatures this weekend fool you, there is plenty of winter weather ahead of us.
OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk reminds motorists that, if significant snow is in the forecast, be prepared the for worst-case scenario.
He stresses, we live in a hyper-connected world, so most people shouldn’t be “blindsided” by a blast of snow.
And with temperatures dropping down to seasonal norms early next week, a mix of wintery precipitation may be just around the corner.
Drive according to the road conditions, if it is bad out there drive as slow as you need to in order to get to your destination.
Sanchuk says they see people all the time who go out not thinking about some of the basics.
Make sure you leave space between you and the vehicle ahead so you can have proper time to stop.
He adds, we are more informed now than ever, so if snow is in the forecast, do a little research and weigh the risks.
If you have to get to an appointment or work on time, make sure you leave early so you aren’t rushing to get there
