Here’s what’s going on in St. Thomas and Elgin County over the next 48 hours.
Today: A PD Party Day is taking place Friday at the St. Thomas Public Library from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The theme is Pirates! No school today? That’s okay! Come to the Library for a day of pirate-themed activities! This includes Captain Corbin’s Magical Pirate Show from 2 to 3 p.m. Registration opens at 9 a.m. on January 17th.
Today: A Teen Writers’ Meetup is running from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the St. Thomas Public Library. Come out for a night of writerly entertainment. Join in the creative process, share some of your work (if you want to), hang out with other teen writers. Registration is required!
Today: Railway City Brewing Co. will once again have live music on Friday! Jeff Butler is set to play from 5 to 8 p.m.
Tomorrow: The Old Imperial Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Aylmer! It’s a family-friendly, year-round, indoor Farmers’ Market that celebrates, supports, and showcases the best of what our community has to offer.
Tomorrow: Winter at Horton is back this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All the vendors will be set up inside, giving you the chance to get some of your market favourites even during the winter months. This continues each Saturday through April 26th.
Tomorrow: Saturday Stories goes from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the St. Thomas Public Library. Join staff each Saturday for storytime, which is full of active songs and stories!
Tomorrow: On Saturday, January 18th, VON Middlesex-Elgin is hosting a free intro session Art Day, to highlight the Kid and Teen Circle Grief programs available to residents. Full details here!

LOCAL SPORTS:
GOJHL: The St. Thomas Stars return to the ice tonight when they host the Sarnia Legionnaires at 7:30 p.m. at the Joe. myFM is also helping the Stars “Fill the Rink” on Friday, with free tickets available at our office at 300 Talbot Street, while supplies last. While this is a home game, we will be broadcasting live on 94.1 myFM.
