A 38-year-old St. Thomas resident has been charged with two counts of assault after police responded to concerns for a child’s wellbeing on Sunday evening.
Officers attended a residence in the city following reports of a child being assaulted.
Upon investigation, police determined the child had sustained minor injuries as a result of a physical assault by their parent.
The victim was safely removed from the home, and a warrant for the arrest of the accused has been requested.
