The 45th Annual St. Thomas Sports Spectacular was another star-studded affair, bringing together athletes from around the sporting world to support an amazing local cause.
This included WWE Super Star Scott Steiner, Olympic Gold Medal Canoeist Katie Vincent, NHL Hall Of Famer Adam Oates, Stanley Cup Champion Brad May, 2024 Canadian Hall of Frame Inductee Ashley Stephenson, and Olympic medalist Brendon Rodney to name a few.
The sold out event raised thousands of dollars for our local Special Olympics and Community Living Elgin, with over $13,000 secured through the live and silent auctions alone.
myFM had the chance to speak with some of the head tableĀ guests ahead of the sit-down portion of the evening, who shared why they wanted to get involved in such a special event.

Adding that you can’t find the type of intimacy you feel with the athletes anywhere else.
Among the guests to the St. Anne’s Centre last Thursday was current Toronto Blue Jay, Davis Schneider. The utility man shared that he had hoped to attend the event in 2024 but wasn’t able to make it work. Noting that he was so glad he could make it out for this one.
For Buffalo Bills Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas, the cause has been near and dear to him since his college days.
The headliner for the evening was NHL player turned podcaster and actor Terry Ryan. While speaking with the “Shoresy” star about the event, he shared how honoured he was to be invited.
