This month, the St. Thomas community has a unique opportunity to support both local artists and animals in need.
The Art for Animals Fundraiser, running throughout February, is raising money for the construction of the city’s much-needed new animal shelter.
Roughly seventeen local artists have generously donated their work, which will be on display at three key locations, explains Sarah Noble, Manager of Marketing & Communications with St. Thomas Economic Development.
Community members are encouraged to visit the venues, enjoy the artwork, and learn more about the new shelter project—even if they don’t plan to buy.
With the current animal shelter struggling to meet demand and often operating at full capacity, funds are desperately needed to see this project come to life.
The new facility will offer more space and resources, allowing for better care of lost or stray animals explains Noble.
In addition to Art for Animals, a tattoo fundraiser in partnership with Limitless Tattoos on February 15th will also help raise funds for the shelter.
