The province’s police watchdog has discontinued its investigation into a woman’s fentanyl overdose while in OPP custody in St. Thomas.
On Oct. 29 of last year a 27-year-old woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
While in a cell overnight she became ill and was taken to hospital by ambulance and treated for a fentanyl overdose.
She had consumed the fentanyl prior to her arrest.
Joseph Martino, Director of the Special Investigations Unit advised there was no issue regarding a lack of care contributing to her medical event.
