Elgin county residents and businesses are encouraged to provide feedback on Elgin’s 2025 Proposed Business Plan and Budget.
The proposed County of Elgin levy for this year stands at $49.8 million.
This would call for an increase to the property tax levy of 1.49 per cent for the average property.
Warden Grant Jones stresses the importance of input from county residents and businesses.
He notes, ” Your feedback is vital in ensuring that county services and infrastructure align with a fiscally responsible budget that meets the needs of our communities both now and in the future. On behalf of county council, I urge everyone to participate in this important process.”
The public consultation period is now open and runs until Feb. 20 and you can review the budget online and submit feedback at https://engageelgin.ca/2025businessplanbudget.
All public input will be submitted to county council at its Feb. 25 meeting.
