Today: Art for Animals, a fundraiser in support of a new City of St. Thomas Animal Shelter, runs the entire month of February at 3 local venues. The St. Thomas Public Library, Caps Off Brewing, and Railway City Tourism will be exhibiting available art by local artists in support of the construction of the new Animal Shelter. Tomorrow: Saturday Stories goes from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the St. Thomas Public Library. Join staff each Saturday for storytime, which is full of active songs and stories!
Tomorrow: St. Thomas-Elgin Crime Stoppers will be hosting their annual Family Day Beach Hockey Golf event beginning at 11 a.m. at Mackie’s, on Port Stanley Main Beach. Free for kids 12 & under with an adult. Bring a tennis ball with a golf club or hockey stick and play 9-18 holes on the beach with free small fry. More details here.

Tomorrow: The Township of Southwold will be celebrating Family Day with a bang on Saturday as the 7th annual Winterfest returns. This free event is open to all Southwold families and will include games, bonfires, free hot dogs, popcorn, hot chocolate and more- beginning at 4:30 p.m. More details here.
Family Day: On February 17, the Aylmer Police, Elgin OPP, Aylmer Fire, and Elgin County Fire will face off in the Battle of the Badges Charity Hockey Game at the East Elgin Community Complex. The event kicks off with a free public skate from noon to 1:30 p.m. sponsored by the Aylmer Police Association. Full details here.

LOCAL SPORTS:
GOJHL: The St. Thomas Stars will host the KW Siskins at the Joe Thornton Community Centre on tonight (Feb 14). Puck drop is 7:30 p.m.
Then on Family Day Monday, the Stars will host their annual Fan Appreciation Day Game. The event, included with general admission, features a pre-game poster-making session (while supplies last), t-shirt giveaways during the game, and a post-game “Skate with the Stars” experience.
