Young aspiring babysitters in the area will have the opportunity to gain valuable caregiving skills through upcoming Red Cross Babysitting Courses, offered in partnership with the YWCA St. Thomas-Elgin and Elgin County Library.
The course, designed for youth aged 11 to 15, provides training in basic first aid, child care, and emergency response. Participants will learn how to care for children of various ages and how to prevent and respond to emergencies.
The course also offers youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families.
Courses will be held at multiple locations beginning in March, with those interested able to register online or by calling 519-631-9800.
