A 30-year-old St. Thomas resident has been arrested following an investigation that began earlier this year, leading to the discovery of drugs, weapons, and ammunition.
On March 10, members of the St. Thomas Police Service (STPS) Critical Incident Response Team arrested the suspect near Centre Street.
A search during the arrest uncovered brass knuckles, coyote spray, a digital scale, and plastic dime bags.
Officers from the STPS Street Crimes Unit then executed a search warrant at an Elgin Street address, seizing flick knives, prescription drugs (54 methylphenidate capsules/14 lisdexamfetamine capsulesand/Six hydromorphone tablets), and two rounds Winchester .308 ammunition.
The accused now faces multiple charges, including unauthorized possession of weapons and drug trafficking.
They were processed and released with a future court date.
This news follows a social media post from St. Thomas Police, asking residents to avoid the active scene on Monday.
