Construction season is well underway across St. Thomas, resulting in a number of road closures across the city.
This includes a section of Centre Street from Stanley to Elgin Streets, as the city begins major infrastructure upgrades. Work will see the replacement of sewers and watermains along Centre Street, which will take place in two phases:
Phase 1: Stanley Street to Metcalfe Street — expected to be completed by August.
Phase 2: Metcalfe Street to Elgin Street — to follow immediately after, running through to October.
During construction, the road will be closed to all but local traffic. Parking will also be prohibited in the 10-hour spaces on Centre Street to accommodate the work.
