A 43-year-old St. Thomas resident is facing multiple charges following a police wellness check on Monday that led to the discovery of an assault.
St. Thomas Police were called just before 10 p.m. to check on the well-being of an individual at a home on the city’s south side. Upon arrival, officers located the person of concern and determined through investigation that they had been assaulted by their partner two days earlier.
The victim, who required medical attention and expressed fear for their safety, was assisted by police.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with Assault, Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm.
The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance.
