Despite falling short in Monday’s federal election, Liberal candidate David Goodwin says he’s proud of the campaign he and his team ran in Elgin—St. Thomas—London South.
Goodwin, who was defeated by Conservative Andrew Lawton, is taking the loss in stride, noting “win or lose, we ran a great campaign.”
Adding that he’s proud of the team’s hard work and the support shown by local Liberals.
The longtime Liberal riding executive member was making his first run as a candidate and shared with myFM that this won’t be the last time you see him.
Looking at the bigger picture, Goodwin said he remains confident in newly elected Liberal Leader Mark Carney’s ability to guide Canada through uncertain economic and political times.
Goodwin was the official runner up in Elgin-St. Thomas-London South, securing roughly 42% of the vote.
