A 32-year-old St. Thomas resident is facing an assault charge after a verbal argument reportedly turned physical in a downtown parking lot Thursday morning.
St. Thomas police were called around 9 a.m. to the 600 block of Talbot Street, where a disturbance between two individuals appeared to escalate. When officers arrived, one person told police their partner had thrown coffee on them during the dispute.
The accused had already left the scene before police arrived, resulting in a warrant for their arrest.
Police have charged the individual with assault with a weapon.
