Southwestern Public Health held a media briefing Thursday afternoon to update the community on the measles outbreak across the region.
Medical officer of Health, Dr. Ninh Tran noted there have now been over 600 cases since last fall.
He added, when investigating cases, they often find other cases in the same household that have not been reported. Most of these cases are no longer infectious.
Dr. Tran stressed the focus now is communicating with communities where there is a high rate of infection.
Additionally, there will soon be an influx of temporary foreign workers and youth summer camps.
