A large passenger boat making its way from St. Thomas to Port Stanley on Tuesday, May 27th has prompted temporary parking restrictions and a road closure on Main Street- to ensure a safe and smooth transport.
The Municipality of Central Elgin says street parking on the east side of Main Street will be prohibited starting at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, with “No Parking” signs posted a day in advance to alert residents.
The restriction is expected to last into the early afternoon.
Main Street will also be temporarily closed to all traffic sometime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., depending on the boat’s arrival. The road will then reopen as soon as it’s safe to do so.
The municipality added that every effort will be made to minimize disruption and reopen the road as quickly as possible.
Full details on the closure can be found here.
