A 29-year-old London resident has been charged after being stopped at a RIDE checkpoint in Central Elgin early Monday morning.
Elgin OPP officers were conducting the Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Sunset Road at Fruit Ridge Line around 12:10 a.m. on May 26th when they pulled over a passenger vehicle.
Following the stop, police charged the driver with having cannabis readily available in the vehicle.
The OPP remind motorists that no amount of alcohol or drug is acceptable to consume and drive.
