Hydro One has completed the draft Environmental Study Report for the St. Thomas Line project.
This transmission line will run from an existing Hydro One transmission corridor north of Highway 401 in London to the Yarmouth Yards industrial park.
The preferred Route 3 follows Old Victoria Road south out of London. It is one of three proposed routes for the transmission line.
The proposed St. Thomas Line is a 230-kilovolt, double-circuit transmission line that will serve the PowerCo EV battery plant due to open in 2027.
The draft report is now available for public review and comment at city hall in St. Thomas and the Belmont Public Library until June 30.

The final Class Environmental Assessment is expected to be completed this summer and, subject to approvals, construction on the line could begin before the end of the year.
The line is expected to be in service some time in 2027.
