The City of St. Thomas is once again joining in on the ParticipACTION Community Challenge and need your help to make it successful!
This national initiative encourages everyone in Canada to get active throughout June, ultimately recognizing Canada’s Most Active Community and awarding it with $100,000 to support local physical activity and sport initiatives.
“This challenge is about more than just fitness – it’s about strengthening community bonds and building a healthier, more vibrant St. Thomas,” said Mayor Joe Preston. “Physical activity has the power to unite us, boost our well-being, and create spaces where everyone feels welcome. Let’s rise to the challenge and show Canada what St. Thomas is made of!”
To take part in the ParticipACTION Community Challenge, all you have to do is download and track your movement in the free ParticipACTION app from June 1st to 30th.
As part of this year’s challenge, the City will host a free community event on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pinafore Park.
Residents of all ages and abilities are invited to explore the scenic trails around Lake Margaret, enjoy a wide variety of family-friendly activities, and take part in interactive fitness demonstrations led by local sports and wellness organizations.
The event is open to everyone, and participants are encouraged to RSVP in advance at stthomas.ca/participaction.
