A 35-year-old St. Thomas resident is facing multiple new charges after being arrested on an outstanding warrant Monday evening.
St. Thomas police say officers on patrol located and arrested the person around 6:20 p.m. on charges for assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause harm, and failing to comply with a probation order.
During processing at police headquarters, officers discovered the individual was carrying roughly $230 in cash, 2.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine with a street value of about $100, and 37.5 grams of suspected fentanyl valued at approximately $540.
Police also seized two digital scales and other drug-related paraphernalia.
As a result, the accused now faces two additional counts of failing to comply with a probation order, as well as two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking—one for methamphetamine and one for fentanyl.
They were released on an undertaking and scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
