The City of St. Thomas has announced the promotion of Adrienne Lacey Griffin to Director of Parks and Recreation, following the planned retirement of current Director Jeff Bray.
Lacey Griffin brings over 15 years of experience in municipal parks, forestry, and recreation, including the last six years as Manager of Parks and Forestry with the City. In that role, she oversaw daily operations, long-term planning, and multi-million-dollar budgets while managing a team of up to 50 staff.
She’s also played a key role in advancing projects like accessible playgrounds, recreational trails, and updates to the Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
“Adrienne has shown exceptional leadership, vision, and a deep commitment to our community,” said Mayor Joe Preston. “Her promotion is a natural step forward.”
Griffin is a certified arborist, a graduate of Humber College’s Landscape Technician program, and holds a Parks and Recreation Management Certificate from York University. She’s also completing a Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from Western University and serves on the board of the Ontario Parks Association.
“I’m honoured to take on this new role and continue working with our dedicated Parks and Recreation team,” said Lacey Griffin. “St. Thomas is a growing and vibrant city, and I look forward to helping shape public spaces that reflect our community’s values and support the well-being of all residents.”
She will take over from Bray effective June 30, 2025, who is retiring after a long and distinguished career serving the community.
