A 35-year-old St. Thomas resident is facing several charges after police responded to a report of a person with a knife at a McIntyre Street residence just before noon on Wednesday, June 11th.
Officers say the individual was breaching multiple conditions of a release order, including being at a prohibited location and contacting someone they were ordered to avoid.
When St. Thomas police attempted to arrest the suspect, they allegedly became combative and threw a heavy object at officers. Despite resistance, police were able to take the individual into custody without injury.
The accused has been charged with:
- Three counts of failure to comply with a release order
- Assaulting a peace officer with a weapon
- Resisting arrest
- Mischief under $5,000
- Uttering threats to cause death
The individual was transported to police headquarters, processed, and remanded into custody.
