A 23-year-old London resident is facing stunt driving charges after being caught speeding nearly double the posted limit on Sunset Road in St. Thomas.
St. Thomas police say the incident happened just after midnight on Tuesday, June 17, where officers clocked the vehicle at 112 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was charged with Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt.
This resulted in a 30-day license suspension, the vehicle being towed and impounded for 14 days and a Part III Summons to attend court.
The St. Thomas Police Service stresses it remains committed to road safety and will continue targeted enforcement efforts to reduce dangerous driving behaviour.
