With a number of community events scheduled to take place across the city and county to celebrate Canada Day, myFM is kicking off our coverage this week.
First up is the Township of Southwold.
As is the case each year, the annual Canada Day celebration hosted by the Fingal-Shedden Optimist Club- takes place the night before on June 30th.
It returns to the Fingal Optimist Ball Park, where food vendors, music, games and face painting will be set up on site, before fireworks go off at dusk.
The annual Canada Day cake will also be back- as we prepare to celebrate our country’s 158th birthday.
Gates open at 7:30 p.m., with donations of nonperishable food in support of Harvest Hands being accepted upon entry.
