The St. Thomas Stars have bolstered their offense with the signing of Chase Pettipiece, a high-impact center out of the U18 AAA Alliance, who led the league in scoring last season.
The 17-year-old from Merlin, Ontario, notched 26 goals and 22 assists in just 35 games, showcasing the offensive instincts that caught the attention of both Junior B and OHL scouts.
Pettipiece was selected 8th overall in the first round of the 2025 OHL U18 Priority Selection by the Flint Firebirds.
He says the decision to join the Stars was strongly influenced by the coaching staff and the supportive atmosphere surrounding the organization.
Standing 5’11”, Pettipiece describes himself as a power forward who likes to score, contribute across the ice, and protect his teammates—comparing his game to NHL star Leon Draisaitl.
Looking ahead, he’s preparing for the faster pace and physicality of the GOJHL, and is ready to make an impact on his new team.
The St. Thomas Stars are entering a bold new chapter as the Junior B hockey club also unveiled a revamped coaching staff. This includes former NHLer and Stanley Cup champion Jason Williams who takes over as head coach, filling the void left by Dave Matsos, who advanced to the OHL’s Sarnia Sting. More on that announcement can be found here.
